How do I set up Personal Profiles in SYNC?

SYNC Personal Profiles save your vehicle settings for seats, a heads-up display, a steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, mirrors, climate control, navigation preferences, ambient lighting, etc. See below for instructions on creating a personal profile.

Use the SYNC screen to set up your profile. Each profile can be accessed by either:

  • Pressing an assigned Memory Seat button on the driver's door.
  • Using a key fob that can be optionally linked to a profile during creation.
  • Using the SYNC touchscreen to select a profile at start-up.

Personal Profiles are associated with your key fob, allowing the vehicle to react and welcome each driver to the vehicle automatically.

  • The vehicle must be parked and running in a safe, open location (free of overhead ceilings, branches, etc.).
  • This applies to vehicles with SYNC 3 and SYNC 4.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation are the:

  • Página de SYNC y actualizaciones de navegación. Either:
    • Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
    • Log in with your Lincoln credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.

Note: Your SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

  • SYNC Visual Reference Guide, which provides example images of SYNC gens that Lincoln has offered.

Setting Up Personal Profiles

On your SYNC screen:

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Select Personal Profile
  3. Toggle Personal Profiles On
  4. Select Add Profile
  5. Enter the profile name and then tap the enter button at the bottom right of the keypad.
  6. Press the Memory button you want to assign the profile to.

    • Up to three separate profiles can be created, matching the three memory options located on the driver's side door panel. You can also select the physical Memory button on the driver's side door panel.
    • If another driver has already set up their Memory button, their name will appear beside the number.
    • Once the Memory button is selected, the assigned name will appear next to the profile.
  7. Set up a profile picture (avatar), set a profile photo, or select a Lincoln image. Image options will vary by vehicle.
  8. Opt-in to Intelligent Suggestions. These are suggestions that will appear on the SYNC screen when you start your vehicle, providing suggestions such as a radio station to listen to, a person to call from your contact list, or a location to obtain directions from the navigation system.
  9. Link a key fob.

Note: If you do not link your key fob, you must select your profile to access it in the future.

  11. Press Done at the bottom of the screen.

You should see your profile under Settings in the "Personal Profiles" section.
