Report a completed SYNC®* update by scanning for updates for SYNC 3 or visiting a Lincoln Dealer for older SYNC generations. SYNC 4 updates are sent automatically.

Reporting a SYNC Software Update

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below for instructions to report a successful SYNC software update. If you need assistance determining your SYNC generation, select the first drop-down option.

SYNC 4

Updates are completed via over-the-air software updates and are reported automatically.

SYNC 3

  1. Confirm your vehicle is in park (P), the engine is running, and you are in an open, well-ventilated, safe area. 
  2. Connect your vehicle to an external Wi-Fi network.
  3. Selecciona Configuración en la pantalla de SYNC de tu vehículo.
  4. Choose Automatic System Updates, and then toggle it on.
  5. Select Scan for Updates Now.

Scanning for updates connects your vehicle to Lincoln's servers. SYNC software updates typically appear within 7-10 business days.

Note: A successful scan is indicated when the current date and time, in military time, are displayed on the screen after the SYNC system has finished scanning. If the date and time do not show, scan for updates again.
