Cómo agregar líquido de frenos

Cuando pisas el pedal de freno, es el líquido de freno el que ayuda a activarlo para reducir la velocidad. Entonces, el líquido de freno es importante.

But like any fluid in your vehicle, the brake fluid must be checked regularly, and occasionally changed.

Looking at the brake reservoir every month will tell you if the level is fine or if you need to add fluid.

Si el nivel del líquido de freno parece un poco bajo, aquí te mostramos cómo rellenarlo.

1. Con el motor apagado, levanta el capó y encuentra el cilindro principal del freno. Normalmente, está en la parte trasera del compartimento del motor, del lado del conductor.
   Cover the fender before opening the brake master cylinder, and use caution when opening a container of brake fluid, as it can damage your vehicle's paint.
2. Usa un paño o una toalla para limpiar el depósito del cilindro principal y tápalo para impedir que le entre suciedad o agua mientras realizas el mantenimiento. De ser necesario, limpia también las mangueras del líquido.
3. Examina el nivel del líquido del lado del depósito del cilindro principal. If your brake fluid is at or above the “MIN” line, your brake fluid level is fine, and you don’t need to add any.
4. If your fluid is below the “MIN” line, carefully remove the reservoir cap, and then add brake fluid until the level is just under the “MAX” line. No lo llenes de más.
5. Using a completely clean towel or a lint-free cloth, clean the inside of the reservoir cap: It may have brake fluid, dirt/debris, or both on it, and must be cleaned before you put it back on.
6. Con cuidado, coloca la tapa en el depósito y presiona las cuatro esquinas hasta que encaje en su lugar.
7. Visit your local Lincoln Retailer to have your brakes inspected as soon as possible—especially if your fluid level continues to go down, or if your fluid is dark. Es posible que necesites realizar un mantenimiento a tu sistema de frenos.
