Why is remote start not working in the Lincoln Way App?

Remote start can fail if certain vehicle conditions are preventing it (e.g., open doors or the vehicle is already running). If you are unable to start your vehicle remotely, refer to the requirements and troubleshooting steps below.

Remote Start Requirements

If your remote start does not work, ensure:

• Your vehicle has a Lincoln Connect^®* embedded modem.
• Your vehicle is added to the Lincoln Way^® App.^**
• Your vehicle is activated.
• All vehicle doors, trunk, hood, and tailgate are closed. The Lincoln Way App should alert you if one is ajar. 
• The engine is turned off when a remote start is requested.
• The alarm horn is not sounding off.
• Remote start is enabled on your vehicle's instrument cluster. To check your settings: 
  1. Ensure your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
  2. Use the directional arrows on your steering wheel to navigate to Settings and push OK. 
  3. Scroll to Vehicle and push OK. 
  4. Arrow to Remote Start and push OK. 
  5. Scroll to System and push OK.  
  6. Set Remote Start to On.

Troubleshooting Remote Start 

Once you have confirmed you meet the requirements: 

1. Restart your device and attempt to remote start again.
2. Ensure your vehicle is not in modo Deep Sleep.

Note: You may also receive an error if you attempt too many back-to-back remote start requests. Drive your vehicle to reset the remote start settings.
