How do I find the Gross Combination Weight Rating of my Lincoln?

The Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of a vehicle is the maximum allowable weight of the towing vehicle and the loaded trailer, including all cargo and passengers, that the vehicle can handle without risking damage.

Calculating the GCWR

  1. Locate the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) from the Safety Compliance Certification Label, or door jamb label, located on the driver's side doorjamb (door latch post pillar) of your vehicle.

  2. Visita el Guías de remolque para RV y tráiler página.
  3. Select the Make, Year, Model, and Trim of your vehicle.
  4. Choose Search.
  5. Scroll down to the "RV & Trailer Towing Guides" section.
  6. Selecciona la Guía de remolque para el año del modelo de tu vehículo.
  7. Scroll down to the "Trailer Towing Selector" section for your vehicle.
  8. Locate the Maximum Loaded Trailer Weight.
  9. Add the GVWR and the Maximum Loaded Trailer Weight. This will be your vehicle's GCWR.

  • The towing vehicle’s brake system is rated for operation at the GVWR, not the GCWR. Separate functional brake systems should be used for safe control of towed vehicles and trailers weighing more than 1,500 lbs. when loaded.
  • The measured Gross Combination Weight (GCW) must never exceed the GCWR.
