You may need to replace them sooner to avoid damage to your engine if you notice your vehicle:
- Has its check engine light on.
- Requires more fuel than normal.
- Idles roughly and is louder than normal.
- Accelerates slowly.
- Has difficulty starting.
When replacing a spark plug, knowing the correct gap is important for vehicle maintenance. The gap setting varies by vehicle and, if set incorrectly, can lead to engine issues.
The spark plug gap setting, as well as the Motorcraft®* part number for your spark plugs, can be found in the "Capacities and Specifications" section of your Owner's Manual.
Important: You should replace your spark plugs with ones that meet Lincoln material and design specifications for your vehicle, such as Motorcraft or equivalent replacement parts. Your warranty may be voided if the engine is damaged due to improper spark plugs.
