How do I set up Phone As A Key with the Lincoln Way App?

You can set up Phone As A Key* on your Aplicación Lincoln Way®** with the setup steps below.

Phone As A Key Requirements

To use Phone As A Key with your Lincoln Way App, you must meet the requirements below:

Setting up Phone As A Key

Select the drop-down with your Lincoln Way experience below for more details on how to set up Phone As A Key.

Lincoln Way 4.X Experience

 To set up Phone As A Key:

  1. Inicia sesión en la aplicación Lincoln Way. 
  2. Go to the Home screen.
  3. Select Setup Phone as a Key.
  4. Choose Set Up Now.
  5. Authenticate your request using one of the following methods (this may vary based on your security settings) and then tap Next.
    • Facial recognition
    • Fingerprint scanning 
    • Passcode/Personal Identification Number (PIN)
    • Username/password

      Note: If you do not have a method of security set up on your device, the Lincoln Way App will request that you create a passcode in your Settings app.
       
  6. Name your key after the authentication is complete.

    Note: Special characters are not allowed, and the maximum key length is 16 characters. 
     
  7. Select Next. Your key should begin to download. 
  8. Tap Copy and Continue to save your Temporary Bluetooth Passcode. 
  9. Paste or manually enter your code when the pairing notification appears and prompts you to enter your code.
  10. Choose Pair or OK. 
  11. Select OK once the Success Screen displays.
  12. Create Your Backup Passcode.

Once the Phone As A Key setup is complete, you should see the additional controls on the Home screen. 

Lincoln Way 5.X Experience

 To set up Phone As A Key:

  1. Inicia sesión en la aplicación Lincoln Way. 
  2. Go to the Vehicle screen.
  3. Tap Setup in the Make this Phone a Key box. 
  4. Choose Pair Device. A prompt for Bluetooth access will appear.
  5. Confirm OK to continue. The key download will begin.

    Note: If you tap Don't Allow, the setup process will end. 
     
  6. Select Copy on the next pop-up. 
  7. Paste your code.
  8. Tap Pair.
  9. Enable location services.
  10. Select Done, once the success message screen displays.
  11. Create Your Backup Passcode.
