Why does my Wi-Fi Hotspot say WPA-WPA not secured?

If your device is using iOS 14 and you received a WPA error message when connecting to your vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot*, follow the instructions below.

Error message: WPA-WPA not secured / WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure. If this is your Wi-Fi network, configure WPA2 (AES) or WPA3 Security type.

  1. From your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap the information button next to the vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot network.
  4. Turn on Private Wi-Fi Address.

If the issue persists, contact a Lincoln Client Experience Manager for further assistance.
