Factors That Can Affect Phone As A Key Performance
The following actions can cause a lack of communication between your mobile device and vehicle:
- Your Lincoln app is closed.
- Your Phone As A Key is not active or enabled on at least one phone.
- Your device is not using the latest operating system and Bluetooth® software.
- Your device and/or vehicle is out of range. The typical operating range for Phone As A Key is 131 feet (40 meters).
- Your Bluetooth connection is not enabled, disrupted, or out of range.

- There is interference from other devices using radio frequencies or physical barriers.

- To get the fastest response with Phone As A Key, it is recommended that you leave your Lincoln app open. If closed, the Lincoln app will relaunch when it detects your vehicle, which takes a moment to re-establish a connection, therefore delaying response time.
- When in your vehicle, it is recommended that you move your phone toward the center of the interior (e.g., armrest area). Your vehicle needs to be able to detect your Phone As A Key to unlock the doors, and must be able to find your phone clearly within the interior of the vehicle to drive.
- Thick or bulky smartphone cases can interfere with the Bluetooth connection.
