How do the Lincoln app releases work?

Lincoln app updates help improve app performance and can be forced or rolling. Some app updates may require a re-download of the Lincoln app, updates to your device, and sometimes device upgrades.

Important: Device upgrades are optional and not required.

Lincoln Update Types

Select one of the options below for more details regarding Lincoln update types and how they work.

Forced Upgrade

Forced upgrades are app upgrades that are required to continue using the Lincoln app. They are designed to improve the overall user experience when there is a new app release.

If you have a compatible device and have enabled auto-update in your app store, you will never see a forced upgrade, as your device will do the updating for you.

  • If you do not have auto-update enabled, you must manually update the app.
  • If you do not perform the upgrade, you will not be able to access the Lincoln app features.
  • If your device is not compatible with the updated version, you will receive an error when trying to update the Lincoln app.

Rolling Update

Rolling updates will appear anytime you are three or more versions behind the latest release. You will not lose app functionality due to rolling updates.

  • If you have a compatible device, and you have enabled auto-update in your app store, you will never see a rolling update, as your device will do the updating for you.
  • If you do not have auto-update enabled, you must manually update the app. When it is time to update, you will be notified, and you can select one of the following options:
    • Update Now - You will be directed to your app store to complete the update.
    • Remind Me Next Week - You will receive a weekly notification until you complete the update.
